It was the worst of times .. (from the novel, A Tale of Two Cities). Erics new found wealth may well come from what became the worst of times for many of the Roman invaders who had occupied Britain for the first four centuries A. D. The revolution and ultimate Saxon takeover ended nearly five hundred years of occupation. As the revolution festered it was a dangerous time for those with political ties to Rome and for those of great wealth who were of Roman decent.
