A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine, Ken Segreaves, who lives in Chloride, Arizona, went with his wife, Clarkie, to a flea market and came back with - among other things - an old metal detector.
Ken dropped it off at my place so I could research it for him and let him know if it worked.
This golden oldie turned out to be a White’s Coinmaster V Supreme, a TR (transmitter receiver) detector made roughly in 1977.
It had an 8” 4BDX coil, external speaker and a 1/4” receptacle for headphones.
It looked like it was in fairly good shape although dirty; some paint had been scraped off the box, and the original 4BDX label was missing from the coil.
