Plattsmouth, Nebraska, is the county seat of Cass County, and is located on the Missouri River 17 miles south of Omaha. Their main resource today is diversified agriculture. It is a quiet town, but a century and a half ago it was a camping ground for gold seekers going to and from the California and Nevada gold fields.

For a treasure hunter with a metal detector, to uncover one cache of coins in a particular location is considered good odds, but at the following site he has a chance to find from one to possibly 100 caches. Many of them are in coins, although several of them would be in gold dust.
