Elias Dunbar couldnt have cared less about buried treasure. His interest would never have changed if it had not been for a Spanish aristocrat who visited Dunbars mountain farm one day in 1908.

Dunbar had often heard tales of Spanish gold in the Ozark Mountains of northwest Arkansas, but he would never have dreamed a vast hoard of treasure might be hidden on his farm some five miles southeast of Sulphur Springs, in Benton County.

The Spaniard told Dunbar he was seeking a fantastic treasure$3 million in goldwhich had been placed in a long abandoned mine tunnel. His guide was a map which bad led him to the strange landmarks on the Dunbar farm,
