Sanibel is a small island located off the southwestern coast of Florida. It is in Lee County and its two principal cities are Sanibel and Captiva. The island is only a thirty-minute drive from the mainland, and is reached by atoll bridge that crosses the bay from Fort Myers. It is a quiet place today, where you can relax and enjoy some fun in the sun, but during the early I 800s, it served as the headquarters for the famous pirate, Black Caesar, who had allegedly buried $2,000,000 worth of gold, silver, and jewels there. Sometime later. he mysteriously disappeared from history without a trace.
