While most of Floridas treasure hunters comb the states scenic offshore areas and sunny beaches in search of pirate booty, theyre overlooking one of the least knownbut most promisingtreasure sites. It lays deep inland, in a dense mosquito infested swamp of northwest Florida.

Well-hidden near Neals Landing on the Florida-Georgia border, a fortune in English gold has defied all efforts at recovery for 154 years. Apparently it still rests there today, under a few feet of silt and swamp water, guarded by rattlesnakes, cottonmouths, and scurrying lizards.
