The most important part of ensuring a successful outing, whether you are looking for a cache, buried treasure, or a lost mine, is preparation and research. The best time I have found to accomplish this task is during the winter months when you’re held up in your home due to harsh weather conditions. Although there are times during the summer when conditions are unbearably hot. For your own health and safety, it would be to your advantage to use those days for research also.
