Any V3 Users out there?
Hi Krueger I said the same thing in 1986 with my 6000DiPro except I was 19 at the time! Since then these things have gotten a lot lighter and smarter …. The V3 is my second detector and even though im computer person it took me a while to get the hang of it, even though I have played with all the programs I pretty much stick to coin & jewelry and Relec …..the only custom thing I do when I get out in the field is check for RF noise and adjust the RF gain to what it tells me ……another thing I do is turn my cell phone off ……
Those three freq. are a big help along with check the bar graph for a nice bell curve …..(those of us old enough to know what a graph looks like and a bell curve ……born in the analog age!!!) I think Whites tried to make everyone happy with the numbers and graphs!

Hey krueger1010 how are you and the V3 doing I have one now for about 6 month I like it a lot it take time to get use to it but when you get to know your way the programs it run hot right out of the box are you using the ground probe it help out a lot just seeing how you are doing
I have have had the V3 now for almost 2 months and I really like it. I did a lot of reading on different forums plus reading and re-reading the manuel and watching the DVD. It is a hot machine right out of the box and has to be tamed down to start with. If you could give a little more info perhaps someone could give some great advise on what you need to do. I sold all my detectors and bought the V3 and I am very glad I did. The V3 is awesome. If you want you can email me for more info I would be very glad to pass on what I have learned.
Do a restore from the LIBRARY - the original factory settings are protected ....
What is your problem...? I don't have a V3 (yet) but I read a lot about them. You are most likely having trouble with falsing. The V3 come from the factory set up really hot and usually makes a lot of noise. It just needs to be toned down a bit most likely. Or do you have other issues like trouble pin-pointing or...? Also the V3 is very sensitive to EMI so stay away from power lines while you are getting familiar with it. Also some coils were just bad from the factory. A little more info and I think I can steer you to the goodies!

I got an answer to my question about how to restore all V3 settings to the original out-of-the-box settings. I called the expert at White's and he walked me through it. He also made me promise not to put it on the Internet or any forums! ThanX!
