Back Light
The new MXT Pro has back lighting but it cost more than the standard MXT. I tried adding a couple of LEDs to mine. The lights work but don't really help much. I think if I adjusted the location or orientation it would help but have not gotten around to taking it apart again. If you decide to do this, DO NOT try soldering to the PCB lands. They are so small and thin, unless you are a PCB soldering expert, you will probably ruin the PCB. Make your tie in at the wiring instead. Won't look as glamorous but much easier to work with. One of the MXT forums has information about the standard LED display. If you contact the same company that makes it for Whites you can find the equivalent display board with back lighting. I don't remember how much it costs but, if memory serves me right, by the time you upgrade the display board you may as well get the Pro model. Depends whether you are capable of doing the swap out yourself or have to pay someone to do it for you. All this information was discussed before the new Pro module came out. Not sure but think it was in Findmall forum under either MXT (OR) Modifications.
I wear a headlamp when hunting late evenings. Works great. Cliff
How about a light that straps around your head or hat. I am surprised that the mxt dosent have a light built in

Yeah, That is what I was afraid of. I never thought about a back light when I bought the MXT.Lee- Top- KS
