Is there a "right wat", or a "wrong way" in which to hunt in a cellar ? I've never had the chance to try it, and if someone has some ideas, I'd like to hear 'em.

cellar hunting

1. Avoid going into cellars alone.  2.Cave-ins, collapses, and fall-throughs happen ofter.  3.Use common sense, or make sure you hunt w/someone who uses it. 4. Use basic safety equpipment: eye protection, hard hat if working under, or at the base of wall; gloves.  If at all possable carry some form of communication device that will work in the area you are hunting (cell phone, FM radio, CB radio, etc). 5. Review what will happen if one of your party is unconcious (Do you know when you must move, and when you never move an unconcious victim?  6.  If you are in the Navy take along a Corpsman, a Boatswains Mate, (rigging & digging), a Radioman, and a Gunners Mate . . . . Just kidding about #6 Dave... . . .all you really need  is a good Sea Bee!

Right or wrong

I would try to use little to none discrimination, because every target should be old if the cellar is old. Dig all targets and don't forget the walls in the cellar. Also outside around the cellar. Good Luck.

right way

Dowsing works wonders. Place a sample of what you are looking for on the ground and walk a circle around it using a pair of L-rods. Following this line of sympathetic energy that connects like materials will allow you to walk directly to your cellar.
