Coins Found ( 185 ) in 4 Hours
I can't believe that i dug all of these new coins ( all new ) in a field that has 22 acres.
I've been detecting for 30 years and have watch a patch of tree's .They finally clear cut all the tree's. I will go back maybe this week since the temperature will be Nice and Sunshine. I was hoping to pick up the trading path during the Revolutionary War to Charlotte,N.C.along North Tryon Street. Following this path for about 4 miles has led to some Civil War Bullets and Buttons.
I wish someone New in Metal Detecting would have found this cache. The bull dozer must have moved them in an area about 10 feet wide and 12 feet long. I found the 1st 11 coins by I spy on the ground, some of the coins were where the end of the Dozer pushed up dirt from the end of the plow. The count was 185 coins at 99 % Memorial Cent. goldnugget-Charlotte,N.C.

Wow what a great find. I would of been so excited!!! My husband says it doesn't take much to excite me though ;-)...I hear a beep and I'm ready to dig, happy with just about anything...We just got our metal detector so I am hoping to come across something cool someday.
Hi Goldnugget,
That reminds me of Bluefishing. They bite faster than you can pull them in when they hit. Great find, and I imagine it was very exciting. Anyway, I am actually more interested in the bullets. They are fairly old because they are large caliber and are rimfire cartridges. I don't know if you are up on your ammo or not. The only rimfire cartridges that have been produced recently are .22's. The ones in your photo are quite old indeed. Can you make out any markings?
Jeff
