I have the spiral-bound book "Digging Deeper With The DFX" that I picked up at a coin a jewelry store last year and have pretty much worn it out. My eyesight isn't what it used to be, so nowadays I read most manuals, books, etc., in pdf format so that I can enlarge the print. I was wondering if the first person who had the book and could scan it (my scanner died) in pdf preferably, and send it to me they can choose two digital treasure hunting and metal detecting related books from my list and I will purchase and send them along.

Any help would be appreciated. Just drop me an email to let me know. I can obviously only accept one or I would really have to break open my piggy bank to cover all the books. :)

Someone finally scanned the book for me and I gave them a couple of treasure hunting books for their trouble. Thanks to all who looked into doing it for me.

Scanning Digging Deeper With The DFX

Morrow01, If might not be totally above board for me to request someone scan Digging Deeper With The DFX for me, but since I own the book I don't think it is that big of a deal. However, giving someone a copy of the book that they don't already own is illegal. I don't want to break any laws.

Why not contact

Why not contact the author directly at http://www.fielddepth.com/tech_book_index.htm.

Explain your problem and see if he will sell you the book on a CD or send it to you in a file.

The problem is, once the book is "out there" in digital form, he'll lose control of it because of pirated copies. He has a problem unless he has some way to send you a copy protected copy of the book.

It is also illegal for someone to copy and send the book to you.

I appreciate your problem but I'm afraid the legal situation will get the best of you. You may just have to get some form of magnifier to read the book directly.

Good luck,

Lee-MI-MI

Digging Deeper With The DFX Number Of Pages

Walt, I live in Meridian, Idaho. I haven't looked at the book in awhile, but I think there are about 120 pages if I remember correctly.

Walt, thanks for being the only one has who responded to my post. I checked into scanning at Office Depot, Office Max, and Kinko's before I started this thread and they want more than the book is worth to scan it because of the number of pages. Maybe the book isn't as popular as I thought and no one has it, or has it without a scanner like me, or, they are too lazy to scan it. :)

I spent 4 hours scanning 456 pages of my plumbing code book into pdf when my scanner was working so I could take it around with me on my blackberry. :)

I still haven't had any takers on the book to scan it for me. I guess everyone is in the same boat I am; I have the book but don't have a scanner. The offer still stands to anyone who has the book and is willing to scan it for me. I sure would hate to have to buy another scanner. My broken one is still sitting on my desk collecting dust. You can't hardly find scanners anymore that aren't all-in-ones that prints, faxes, scans, makes coffee, runs the vacuum, etc. :)
