Can anybody help.?..Just got a new Ace 350. Was wondering how to ground balance the thing, or is it automatic? I'm constantly getting hits when I search, sometimes when I'm stationary. I can eliminate a lot of this if I turn down the sensitivity, but then I feel like I miss a lot of targets. Any suggestions? Thanks

Now I know

Thanks Cliff for the response. Now I know. I had gone to the News and Articles before, but somehow I never saw the "Ace 350" link. Must have been a senior moment. Anyway, the article was informative, and will sure give it a try. Thanks again. Lamar

Ace 350

Hi Lamar: The Ace 350 is automatic ground balance. For starters I would set my discrimination to just below a nickel that way you can find nickels and some gold rings. The amount of mineralization in your soil will affect your sensitivity. You need to find a spot of ground with no metal and set your sensitivity as high as you can without  the detector chattering. Go to the homepage here on losttreasure and go to News and Articles, once there scroll down to Field test. Once you are into field test scroll down to "Garrett" look for the Ace 350 not to be confused with the GTA 350. There is a good article on your machine. Hope this helps.
