gti2500 & gtax550
been using gti2500 for almost three years now with no problem i here that a few others have a little
problem with theres, not very good depth, a lot of false signals maybe i can help.
my gtax550 works good don't here about to many th'ers talking about this machine.
how much does the 550 differ from the ace250 i know that the 250 has differant search modes
Mine did this a few times to I noticed when I change out the battery packs so what I do is reset to factory settings then it seems to go away so far it works all the time for me.Frank S
well the machine just went crasy the curser was all over the place seems there is some big prob with this machine only been used 4 times so much for new machine well it will be going back for repair and will see what happens then thanks for all that tried to help
make sure that your connection to the control box is tight and the cable is
not to loose around the shaft also try the 12 inch coil that came with the 2500 and see if it still does the same thing
i have tried turning down sensivity als the manual ground balance was told to use relic mode still the same never had any such trouble with my old gti1500
dont know which mode your in, but try lowering your sensetivity down more than
you think you need to start with maybe down to 5 or 6. dont know what soil
you have or where you are at. If you are in deepseeking mode manual groud balance
your machine, even try two 2 inchs off the ground with your coil swing, your depth
will still be good
i had gti 1500 for good few years was crasy and went and upgraded for new 2500 worst mistake ever just cant control false signals iam not sure if some wrong with machine or not but reading other peoples comments on various sites seems only way to solve this prob is to get rid off it as nothing seems cure it think garret needs do some thing as lot folk seem to have this
the 2500 post was for those who are new to the hobby
and are having problems when first getting started with a
new detector. sensitivity (depth) adjustment, coil being
level, the right height of the coil to the ground etc.
even in all metal deep seeking mode these all factor in!
those who are new need to know the tricks of the trade
to enjoy themselves out there.....

The GTI 2500 has some of the best depth of any VLF detector made it will detect deeper than a Whites DFX or XLT or the Minelab Eureka gold, you are not getting very good depth because YOU HAVE TO TURN IT ON FIRST!! I own five VLF units and my Garrett GTI 2500 goes deeper than all of them in all metal mode, if you think the 2500 is not very deep you have never used one. The disc mode looses some depth but not all metal mode......
never used the 1500, don't know what you are up grading from
but if you are up grading go more than you think you need to...
never had a problem with my 2500 like others say they
do, falsing no depth etc. in no discrimination I have found
coins deep as 8-10 inches at the beach (dry sand) in wet sand
the 2500 does false more than I like just have to play with
sensitivity until it calms down... in parks the 2500 does great!!
all metal mode get ready to dig deep....
