lost Sublett mine in west texas
There are several publications that I know of that talk about the Sublett mine and the Guadalupes. Here are a couple: Coronados Children by Frank Dobie. He wrote a whole chapter on "The secret of the Guadalupes" which is about the Sublett mine. Another writer W.C. Jameson "Buried Treasures of Texas" wrote a chapter "The Trans-Pecos Desert". The Lost Sublett Mine. There are more but that's enough to get you going. Good Luck. Cliff
I have recently heard that igneous rocks were found around the southeastern portion of the Guadalupe Mountains. Has anyone else heard of this, or can point me toward any kind of publication to this effect? I can not stress the importance of this for any researcher of the Lost Sublett Mine. The importance of course is that Gold deposits are found in igneous rocks. This would lend greater credibility to the legend of the Lost Sublett Mine.
i live in texas right off i 20 between ft worth and abilene where we going when can we go do i need to do some research(wife is good at that).i am working old homesites of eight houses right now but i might can work in a real treasure
Hola amigo,
I can't join you for a search, but would like to ask a question - it sounds like you believe this mine is in Texas, rather than across the border in the Guadeloupes of New Mexico? I don't know where the mine is but suspect that it might be in NM but very close to the Texas border. I would appreciate your opinion, thank you in advance,
Oroblanco

I found this report linked below that talks about igneous rock on the southeastern face of the Guadalupes. http://www.nps.gov/history/history/online_books/gumo/215/sec2d.htm
