found this pin at an old Elementary School in SE VA. Does anyone know what the origin of this may be? I've looked into the WWI and WWII medic devices, but none of them appear as this one does. It's the size of a modern bottle cap (exactly 1" in diameter), and still has a portion of a frog clip on the back, which makes me think it's more of a modern device. Modern military hasn't had pins like this in quite some time, so I'm a bit lost (and didn't want to risk cleaning it anymore than just washing the dirt off). Would greatly appreciate any info. Added two more pics with better resolution.

Medic pin

Dud,
I did see some similar medic pins and devices that were much larger or just the caduce by itself, but this one's got me stumped. I've looked at every WWI and WWII medic device I could find and they just don't match this one. Even the vetrinarians used the caduce symbol but it had a V in the middle, dentists had a D and so on. I give up! Thanks for the response.
