Dug this today. Unfortunately the front is caved in so not able to get a better picture. Can someone date this for me. I believe it's a Marine Corps Button because of the anchor but not sure what date period. The back is marked Waterbury Button Company.

Military button id

You are correct that it is a Marine Corps button. The way the back mark is spelled out will give a span of years manufactured. This button was made by several different companies. An internet search of "Marine corps button mark" will give you some sites that will help you identify it. A button with the back mark of "Waterbury button co" was manufactured fron 1849 to 1965, you may have an old one there. I recently found the identical button design from "Horstman Philadelphia" with a span of 1895 to 1935. Great find!
