so i am new to treasure hunting and to be honnest it is mainly because i lost my wedding ring this afternoon in the front yard somewhere and my wife isn't happy nor am i. i have a treasure hunter md3010 that i borrowed from my dad and he has never used it cause he has no instructions. And this is my delima. the ring i'm looking for is white gold. can anyone tell me how to set this thing up so i can find my ring, thanks in advance to all.

Cleanup

Hey, you never know what you will find, other jewelry, coins etc. and you clean up your yard of any aluminum or pop tops.

set up

Set it up like Radio says. Gold shows as aluminum, nickels and pull tabs. You will not have to dig any holes since you just lost it, that saves a lot right there.

froto,my advice...set it to the most basic setting so that it detects everything. in my experience, gold will ring up as aluminum and sometimes as coins. keep it basic and start a systematic search. you don't need a fancy machine to find your ring. you do need determination and a good search pattern.
