I bought a Garrett GTI 1500 back in march I spent hours reading the manual and watching the video and only found a few clad coins.I'm disappointed I'm thinking of going back to my old machine a coin hunter 2.

I wrote Garrett today a bout my GTI 1500.I told them the trouble I am having pinpointing my targets and false reading. They said I may have a defective machine to send it in for repairs.See the problems I am having are false reading's and trouble pinpointing my targets.
I have read the manual a number of times and watched the video about the same number.I got my from a very good dealer but they where out of new in the box and sold me their demo model.

garrett GTI 1500

I've had major trouble with Garrett master hunter, one day I will get a 1300 or 1500. Till then, I'll keep hunting with my Bounty Hunter 505. You can't get a better detector at the price it cost. The only down fall it has is detecting the edge of the water,on a salt water beach. I'm told the Garrett 1500 handles the black sand.

The Garrett GTI1500 is pretty good, unless you have a defective unit. Have you been searching in old areas that have a chance of having older coins? What type of areas are you searching
