Not sure where to start...
There is a story of a lost treasure in or around Aztec, NM. The story starts as a young NM women was roaming in the desert SE of Aztec, NM and stumbled upon a cave, and in this cave was several gold bars bearing a stamp of a rose, and several ancient Spanish conquistador items. I know the story to be true as one of her children have seen a single gold bar from this site and I have heard the story first hand from her.

Not sure what king of thoughts or comments you are asking for. First off, I am sure most of the members of this forum, myself included, would be more than ready to go help you dig up this vast treasure. I am also sure that by the time you knew WHERE to dig, most of the volunteers would have faded away to such other mundane tasks as working for a living and providing for a family. I guess with the info you have at hand, some serious research is called for. You know it is true. You assume it has not been already found. I would start with interviewing anyone still alive and old enough to remember the slightest detail before they too are gone. Take good notes. After that you are destined to start searching for and reading any story even possibly resembling the possible origin of the long lost items. It wold be a good idea to learn to be able to speak Spanish and to read ancient spanish. You may find other stories relate back to this treasure. Nothing is for certain until/unless verified by you. Only then will you have enough data to start a physical search of the suspected area. It will take a lot of work and no small measure of luck but I wish you well.
How close of a location do you have on this cave. How many miles in what direction. I might be able to help if there were more details.watcher
