I found this lead seal at a local park in New Jersey, not too far from the coast. Can anyone help me identify the place of origin and possible value?

They were also called bag

They were also called bag seals or bale seals. I have dug about five or six from a late 1800's early 1900's race track.

Thanks for the reply Pops. I appreciate it. I’m going to run it though an electro cell on low voltage to get some of that crud off and see if I can get more detail from it.

Those types of seals are used for a variety of applications. A wire loop fits through the two holes and the lead squeezed to hold it in place.  They have been used to seal the ring that holds electric meters in place or to show electrical boxes haven't been opened or tampered with. I hope I'm wrong but it probably isn't that old.
