After  finding that Garrett has a pigtail adaptor for the SH II headphones, I wired in land-set headphones w/ volume controls.  Next problem, I've got the two coils for the SH II, and have a cover for the 10 X 14 coil, but Garrett doesn't make a cover for the 8" (actually 8.75"), and they don't plan to offer one  either. Has anyone either fabricated a cover or knows of any other brand that will fit.   Thanks, Norm

Re: Coil Cover Fix

Hi Cliff,   I had a can of touch-up from a previously sprayed truck bed, and tried that.  It seems to work better than a removeable cover, and  I won't have to periodically clean it out. Thank you very much for the tip, and I'm applying it to some older coils as well. Continued Good Hunting. Norm

Hi Norm: If you can't find a cover for the coil you might want to consider using  "Truck Bed coating". It's like truck bed liner spray. You get it from Walmart, cost about $8.00. I had a coil that was to worn to hold a cover so I sprayed it with 2 coats and it has not worn off after rubbing the sand at the beach a few times and rubbing gravel and the ground. One can will outlast the coil and detector. Just my 2 cents. Cliff
