I recently purchased the T-2 and used it its light, its depth is really deep, and pinpointing is easy with a little practice. But the readings on it really need to be worked on better, its ok on coins but for relics i think they should really come out with better targeting and better ways to read whats in the ground in stead of guessing.

Teknetics T2

My third year with the T2 is coming to an end and I couldn't be happier. The initial learning curve was intense but only because of all the targets sounding off. The T2 is very fast at responding to targets so target separation is great. The 11" DD coil has great depth and the fast sweep speed of the T2 quickly covers ground. The detector is light and the rod is ergonomically neutral so fatigue is not a problem. It runs off 4 AA batteries with a long battery life. The book says 40 hours on a good set of alkaline and I believe it. Sometimes I'll change them because I can't remember the last time they were replaced. The display screen is very clear and with large easy to read numbers. The "experts" say there are two cons on the T2; no backlight and it doesn't retain it's settings when turned off. I don't find either of these a problem. I don't hunt at night and if I did I would be more concerned with lighting the hole than the display and it takes a whole 5 seconds to put the settings back in after turning it off.If you're in the market for a top of the line detector I strongly recommend the T2.2010 coin count:  7 dollars, 5 halves, 521 quarters, 756 dimes, 150 nickels and 1705 pennies.
