I recently purchased a Vaquero and I love it. It has given me a rejuvenated outlook on detecting. I do have one problem with it and that is I search out in the desert a lot and and as such I find that I am constantly searching around bushes and cactus and various other obstacles, my problem is that the control knobs are always being moved by those obstacles which change my settings. Does anybody have any solutions to the problem? Thanks. Jack.

I have a tejon and love it.

I have a tejon and love it. Try taping your knobs in place or marking where your normal setting is. good hunting, kane 23

Vaquero

Thanks, since it doesn't have a meter, that is another decent problem solver.

Try This

I own a Tejon and I used to own a El Dorado. I had the same problem and the fix I used was removing the knobs and putting a small "O" ring on the shafts and reinstalling the knobs. The "O" rings will provide some drag, making it harder for the knobs to be moved by accident. You should be able to pick up an assortment of these rings at your local hardware store. There is one thing to note, when you install the rings, be careful that you don't get the shaft too tight or you may have a hard time setting your detector. I actually found this remedy in one of the articles that this magazine published.
Good luck and happy hunting
