I agree - US Air Force dress hat emblem

I have one on my hat in my attic from more than 50 years ago.13 stars above the eagle. Post on the back to push through the hat fabric and attach a spring clip to hold it in place. No idea how long they were or are used.

I believe it is a hat device from the U.S. Air Force. If you look at the back, it may reveal more.
