Hunting old sidewalks
I like hunting sidewalks in the older section of town. You will find a variety of things like clad and silver coins, gold and silver rings, chains, tokens the list goes on. Give it a try unless your to shy around public. It didn't take me long to get over it when I found a nice 1923 walking half my first trip out. The cities own the property between the sidewalk and the street, but if your not sure go to city-hall and find out.
Cliff, thanks for the tip. I hunt old school grounds and seem to have good luck around the seats where the teachers sit and watch the kids play. I've found a nice gold ring that way. There is always clad out there but silver is harder to find. Don
Hunting those sidewalk areas that are adjacent to parks and schools have always worked well for me. Headphones are a must to block out traffic noise and to attract fewer curious people. Always be friendly to those that do stop and ask questions, especially the kids. I was one of those curious kids back in the 1970s when I saw my first metal detector being used by an older gentleman in our school yard. That friendly, old fellow got me hooked on metal detecting for life!
Good tip, thanks!

Hi Don: If you can find some neighborhoods where the house's are built before 1964 and there are sidewalks there. There will be silver around those sidewalks if no one has been there already. Good Luck.
