When I started thinking about this book I was only interested in adding to our Treasure Guide Series, not thinking in a three volume book! I really didn't know the job I had ahead of me. I found many things that were new to me about the state of Oklahoma. I guess the main thing I found was finally realizing how many ghost towns there were in this state. It seems that they were positioned about 2-3 miles apart and that the number of them far surpassed those that were still alive. I found towns that didn't have a post office, and because of this fact, I am sure that there are many more that aren't included in these books. Those that are mentioned in these books are there because the postal authorities thought they were important enough to have a post office. Because the length of the manuscript had gotten way out of hands, I had to limit what was put into my books, therefore, there are items in each book I used as part of my bibliography that are just not in here. Please do try to get these books and those I have listed in my section on Additional Reading books and read further. It is just simply too much information to put in these three small volumes. Oklahoma has a history as wide as north to south or as wide as east to west. There is no boundaries to the wealth of historic information of the impact that this one state's history had on the taming and populating of the west.
