Jim started nuggetshooting in 1976 with a "Compass Yucon 77-B." He found his first detected nugget while using a "Garrett Ground Hog." on a hard-rock mine dump near Tonopah, Nevada. His world has not been the same since. He is an author of eight books on prospecting, detecting, and mining. In addition to being an author he is a freelance writer whose articles have appeared in LOST TREASURE, WESTERN & EASTERN TREASURES, and the INTERNATIONAL CALFORNIA MINING JOURNAL.
