I used to use a cloth nail apron tied around my waist to keep my recovered items in. After having the strings break, holes poked through, stabbed in the belly with items while bending, and getting soaked easily. I looked for something different. I found a nylon shotgun shell holder/pouch for trap and skeet shooters at a sporting goods store that holds 2 boxes of shells and comes with an adjustable nylon belt attatched and sits on my hip...It works great for me and I have mounted my pinpointer holder and a sheath for my trowel on the belt as well. If your looking for an alternative like I was!? Check them out...

I like it. I have the same thing in leather. It does not have a flap to cover the top but hen niether does a nail apron.

Good idea, I too started with

Good idea, I too started with the apron but had the same problems as you. I found a neoprene pouch that has a bendable hook at the top. I believe it was advertised as a cell phone pouch for a vehicle. It will hook over your belt and swivels when you move so you don't drop anything out. It won't hold a tremendous amount but is good for that short hunt at the park or school.

I will definately look into the shotgun shell holder you mentioned.
