Winter woes
Usually around the first of February the snow all melts away and and the ground thaws out, time for some serious detecting to begin. By this time last year thanks to a couple of trips south I had over 1200 coins already. This year I have 302 so far. All I can say is what an awful winter!
To the north there is no snow, go figure? Not even any snow for the Vancouver olympics. They should have had it here in southern Utah instead. Anyone else want to smack mother nature and old man winter up the side of the head? Give me a break, Winter please go away and don't come back....Kane 23
Where in Idaho do you live and detect? Heading up there from Cali around June....have an inside lead on a potential motherlode and may need some experienced help.
I certainly feel for you buddy!
Tell me about it. I just got my first detector and am anxious for spring. We got 4 inches of snow yesterday and we are supposed to get another 6+ on monday and another storm behind that. Come on Spring!!!!
I hope you see spring and fertile ground soon, Kane 23
I really feel for you Eastern treasure hunters right now!!! What a massive Blizzard you are having. It makes my woes look like nothing. A lot of the snow here has melted though another storm is moving in.I can't catch much of a break. Eastern Th'ers your in my thoughts I hope the snow melts quickly.....kane 23
I'm past ready to go digging, but the weather won't cooperate.
Steve,
I feel for you! If there is'nt any snow I'll still go out and look for new change even when the ground is frozen. I would go south but the gas is to expensive. even so I will in a couple of weeks one way or the other. I would really go nuts if I had to wait for April. Good luck in frozen Idaho, kane 23
I live in Idaho now but grew up in Indiana and saw more snow and freezing temperatures than I ever want to see again. Here in Idaho we don't get that much but any is too much for me.
I just got an email from one of my subscribers who lives in Connecticut who is so ready to go detecting he is going to bring along a hammer and screwdriver with him to chisel out his finds....
I usually don't get started around here until about April 1, but last year the ground was still frozen then.

More snow yesterday and last night, worthless el Nino! Somebody rake me to the Mediterainian! Kane 23
