Area’s west of Utah’s Interstate 15 are generally considered Utah’s West Desert, with large expanses of barren land, rocky mazes of rattlesnakes, scorpions, and deadly hidden mine shafts, where the summers can be brutally hot and the winters brutally cold.
Despite its rough and rugged terrain, people have journeyed through Utah’s desert leaving histories of lost treasures, ghost towns, pony express, Spanish trails, Mormon settlers, Army Cavalry and many more.
This spot on the map connected the east to the west with only one route…straight through Utah’s West Desert.
