Editors Note:  These five ghost town locations are taken from a booklet, "Dust to Dust."  When most people think of ghost towns, immediately visions of gold and silver camps of the far west appear. However, most states have had their share of boom and bust towns. Nebraska is no exception. There is a distinction to be made between these ghost towns, those of, say, Montana or Colorado.  The towns of Nebraska generally did not spring up overnight, like the mining camps did. Also, their demise was generally caused by factors different from the far west towns.
