JAPANESE POLICE PURCHASE UNDERWATER METAL DETECTORS*
J.W. Fishers Mfg., the specialists in low cost, high tech underwater search equipment, have com-pleted a contract for JapanÕs National Police Office (NPO) supplying them with a large quantity of Fishers top of the line Pulse 8X metal detectors. Delivery time was crucial as the detectors were urgently required by the police agency before the EU sum-mit of 8 nations convened in Okinawa. For more than three years the agency had been using the 8X to locate a variety of targets including weapons used in the commission of crimes and disposed of in the countryÕs lakes, rivers, and sea. Nippon Kaiyo worked closely with NPO providing them with extensive field support. When the contact was put out for bid, Fishers Pulse 8X detector easily met the requirements in the specification.
