A Guide to Treasure in Michigan and Ohio

Michigan and Ohio are wealthy states, and there should be a wealth of treasure to find there. Following precedent, I have grouped locations under two separate headings:
1) Treasure Sites—which are a lost mine or mines, or a lost, buried, sunken or hidden treasure. These have been documented or authenticated as close to fact as research and history will allow.
2) Metal Detector Sites—which are relic hunting spots only. Of course, a treasure hunter may find a cache of old gold coins at any of the old ghost towns, military or civilian trading posts, forts, cabins, or campgrounds. But the primary purpose of a metal detector is to find historical relics.
